KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, DBF Furnace Technical

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To plan, develop and control DBF metallurgical process, conduct investigations and provide technical assistance to operating staff to enhance efficiency and ensure achievement of targets at minimum cost. The scope / portfolio of this role includes planning, tasking and checking equipment performance, continually monitoring process parameters, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring DBF availability. 

You will have the following:

• Must have a degree in in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• Must have at least 6 years working experience in smelting, preferably copper
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French will be considered highly advantageous

• Proficient in metallurgical furnace process management, with the ability to deal with production emergencies.
