Our client is an established group of companies in the logistics industry, specializing in container depots and expanding into other areas of logistics. They are seeking a Senior Finance Executive with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to work, and a proven ability to deliver results. The role involves managing accounting records, financial management, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to maintain a strong and effective finance department that supports the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS.
  • Identify and manage financial risks through the implementation of appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with directors to prepare consolidated annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for submission to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee audit preparations and ensure findings are resolved before the next audit cycle.
  • Review and enhance accounting and reporting systems.
  • Prepare and address queries on monthly management accounts.
  • Manage full accounting functions, including income statements, accounts receivable/payable, and assets for all subsidiaries.
  • Oversee payroll and compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements.
  • Effectively manage cash flows and relationships with financial institutions.
  • Review and approve EFT payments and ensure proper documentation and filing systems are maintained.

Requirements:

  • B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
  • Completed articles with an accredited audit firm and/or membership with SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA (advantageous).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a core finance environment.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including graphs, pivots, and V-lookups (tested during the interview).
  • Strong capability in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish strong stakeholder relationships, manage teams effectively, and solve complex problems.
  • Logistics industry experience is not mandatory but is considered advantageous.
