Senior Data Scientist

A global company on a mission to unlock Africa’s potential by creating work opportunities for its growing talent pool and rapidly scaling to become a multi-billion-dollar technology services provider has an opening for a senior data scientist to apply advanced data science and machine learning techniques. You will work across multiple industries, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy machine learning models that deliver measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models and data science solutions to address business challenges.
• Lead research and development of innovative data science techniques, ensuring models are aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into products and services.
• Communicate findings and model impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new methodologies into your work.
• Mentor and support junior data scientists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

• Five-plus years of experience in data science and machine learning, with a proven track record of developing and deploying models.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one cloud provider (preferably Azure).
• Strong background in machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and decision science.
• Experience with the full machine learning product lifecycle, from research to deployment.
