Senior Data Scientist

A dynamic, industrial holding company dedicated to investing in, growing, and starting businesses with a global footprint in diverse industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, big data, engineering, and energy efficiency, seeks a senior data scientist. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data science methodologies, and machine learning algorithms, and a proven ability to drive business insights through advanced analytics.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of advanced AI and machine learning models to solve complex business challenges.
• Work closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure smooth integration and deployment of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business goals and customer needs.
• Analyse large datasets to uncover trends and build predictive models.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, promoting best practices in AI and machine learning.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of scorecard strategies.

Skills:

• Active learner, change agility, data science, machine learning, predictive modelling, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Python programming, R code, SQL, and statistical data analysis.

Qualifications and experience:

• Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, or related fields.
• Five plus years of work experience in a data science-related field, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and solving complex problems.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in data manipulation, visualisation libraries, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
• Experience or completed coursework in cloud-based computing platforms like AWS.
