Senior Bookkeeper

Job Description

Our client, a National Product Retailer is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Bookkeeping.
• Financial or Accounting degree.
• Experience with foreign exchange (recon accounts in USD)
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/ receivable principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Exceptional Data entry skills with a knack for numbers.
• Experience with Pastel
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Team management experience advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Accurately record the day- to- day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct book.
• Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.
• Review and process credit requests, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This includes conducting due diligence and risk assessment as part of the approval process.
• Accurately processing good received, ensuring they match purchase orders and supplier invoices.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for any supplier issues, investigate and resolve queries in a timely manner.
• Follow up on and resolve supplier queries, including discrepancies and requests for credit notes. Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled, and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
• Verify and process monthly petty cash transactions.
