Who we are looking for
We are seeking a creative and strategic retail marketing manager with a passion for driving brand engagement and foot traffic at retail properties. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that deliver results.
Key requirements
- Grade 12 (required).
- Tertiary marketing qualification or BSc/BA in marketing, business administration, or a relevant discipline (preferred).
- Proven experience as a marketing manager in a retail environment.
- Excellent financial skills with experience in budget management.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Creative thinker with commercial awareness.
- Proficient in MS Office and marketing software (e.g., CRM).
- Familiarity with social media and web analytics tools (e.g., WebTrends).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Ability to understand and analyse market demographics, target audiences, and local market trends.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning principles and marketing best practices.
- Drivers licence and own car (required).
- Familiarity with emerging markets is an advantage.
What you will do
- As the retail marketing manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance visibility, drive foot traffic, and elevate the brand reputation of a retail property.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans to drive customer engagement, tenant promotion, and brand growth.
- Manage the marketing function, including campaign execution, tenant communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Plan and execute events and in-store promotions, such as seasonal sales, special events, and grand openings.
- Manage event logistics, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
- Act as a liaison between the managing agent and media partners to promote public relations and the property’s corporate image.
- Build strong relationships with tenants to align marketing efforts and enhance the customer journey.
- Ensure all marketing initiatives are data-driven and continuously optimized for better outcomes.
Stakeholder relationships
- Internal: Centre manager, portfolio manager, financial manager.
- External: Clients, advertising agencies, public relations agencies, media partners.
