We are expanding our footprint in Eastern Africa and require a technically strong sales professional with proven success in developing industrial markets.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in target industries.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers and distributors.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Prepare and follow up on commercial and technical quotations.
- Drive sales of capital equipment and aftermarket services.
- Monitor tenders, submit proposals, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Conduct customer visits, troubleshooting, and basic technical support.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events in the region.
- Maintain accurate sales reporting and forecasting.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 7–10 years in technical sales of industrial equipment or capital machinery.
- Experience in vacuum pumps, blowers, compressors, or similar technologies advantageous.
- Proven track record in business development within East Africa.
- Background in at least one of the target industries (pharma, plastics, wastewater, oil & gas, etc.).
- Strong network with distributors, contractors, and consultants in the region.
- English essential; French or local language an advantage.
- Expat experience or multi-country sales territory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong technical and commercial acumen.
- Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across East Africa.
- Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will drive new business development, distributor engagement, and key account management across Kenya, Ethiopia, and neighboring countries. This is a strategic external sales role, ideal for a commercially minded professional with strong engineering knowledge and the ability to engage at all levels from plant engineers to procurement directors.
