Job Description


The Quarry Manager oversees all mining and crushing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while optimising productivity, safety, and environmental responsibility.
 
Essential Requirements:
  • A SAQA-accredited Engineering or Mining Diploma, with a postgraduate qualification being advantageous.
  • 5–10 years of quarry experience, at least five years in financial management,
  • GCC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining.
  • Strong technical knowledge of geology, mining techniques, and regulatory compliance is essential.
  • Experience in a unionised environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and excellent communication skills.
  • A valid South African driver’s license
 
The role demands leadership in performance management, employee relations, SHE compliance, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include plant utilisation, cost control, contractor supervision, and customer satisfaction. The ability to assess development needs, mentor employees, and drive continuous improvement initiatives is critical, ensuring the quarry operates efficiently while meeting safety and compliance benchmarks.
