Job Title: Quantitative Analyst  

Location: KwaZulu-Natal

Industry: Banking

Salary: R750 000 – R1 000 000 per annum

Hire Resolve is looking for an experienced and skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our client’s dynamic banking team based in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing complex financial data, building robust mathematical models, and delivering data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid understanding of the banking and financial services sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain statistical and quantitative models that support retail credit risk assessment.
  • Deliver analytical results and insights through effective data analysis, and make strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Engage with business units to understand needs and ensure analytical solutions meet specifications.
  • Support ad hoc data requests and queries through structured analysis and reporting.
  • Improve efficiency by identifying opportunities to streamline models and operational processes.
  • Ensure all modelling and data processes are well-documented for knowledge sharing and business continuity.
  • Maintain compliance with internal risk policies and external regulatory requirements through monitoring and analysis.
  • Actively participate in strategic forums and business meetings to provide analytical input.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in data science and risk modelling.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technical developments through ongoing learning and training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantitative analysis within the banking industry
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical software, programming languages (R, Python, SQL), and data visualization tools
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, products, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional certification (CQF, CFA, FRM) preferred.
