Professional Structural Engineer – Consulting Industry
Job Description
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Professional Structural Engineer to join their Structural Department in Johannesburg. This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects with a well-established team of professionals.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering degree (BEng) from an accredited university.
- Professionally registered (e.g., Pr Eng or equivalent).
- At least 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Minimum 2–3 years post-registration experience.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in structural design software and manual calculation methods.
- Demonstrated project financial knowledge (budgeting, forecasting, invoicing).
- A collaborative, flexible approach and a strong professional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual and detailed structural design for complex building and infrastructure projects.
- Provide efficient and innovative engineering solutions using the latest software and first-principles calculations.
- Draft and review technical reports and project documentation.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Oversee quality assurance processes across project lifecycles.
- Support resource planning, budgeting, and invoicing.
- Represent technical work and service offerings to clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and business development activities.
- Maintain and build client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
