Job Description:
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and dynamic Product Developer in the Bakery sector. The role involves driving product innovation, developing cost-effective and factory-oriented products, and managing the end-to-end product development process. Key responsibilities include customer presentations, maintaining accurate documentation, managing NPD timelines, and staying on top of market trends. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative and cost-effective bakery products that align with factory capabilities.
  • Manage the critical path of new product development (NPD) projects, ensuring timely product launches.
  • Conduct professional product presentations to customers, exceeding expectations on product quality and innovation.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of NPD recipes and related information is captured and up-to-date.
  • Stay informed on local and global market trends, identifying opportunities for business growth.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and manage project timelines effectively.
  • Provide hands-on support in the factory or kitchen when necessary to assist with product development.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3-year Diploma in Advanced Culinary Arts or Food Preparation & Cooking.
  • 1-5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Passion for baking and an interest in the bakery sector.
  • Own transport is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and market competition.
