A well-established manufacturing company in the packaging sector is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its operations based in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the plant, ensuring smooth production and adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead and develop a team across production, maintenance, and quality control functions.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resources.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to minimize downtime and meet production demands.
  • Monitor plant performance through key metrics and implement corrective measures where needed.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and raw material requirements effectively.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management on production planning, operational strategies, and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • A diploma/degree in Engineering, Production/Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Plant Manager or Operations Manager within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of production processes, equipment, and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and health & safety compliance.
