Job Description


The above mentioned position is vacant as an Operations Manager for a Sugar Cane site, reporting to Branch Manager.

Minimum Requirements
 

  • Must have no prior criminal record.
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of progressive responsibility in managing large guard force contingents (A Diploma in Security Risk Management/ Criminology/Law or Policing will be an added advantage)
  • Stand in for the Security Manager as and when required.
  • Familiar with Eswatini criminal and labour laws.
  • Maintain healthy public relations with the client, local communities, authorities, and other contractor
  • Good leadership skills and ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Trained as a minimum to have/show proficiency/knowledge in self-defence, report writing, occupational safety, threat evaluation, emergency and bomb threat response, protection of information, responding to emergencies, fire prevention and protection, conducting risk assessments and legal aspects of providing security services, and radio/telephone communications.
  • Fluency in English and the local language (speaking/reading/writing).
  • Committed to full term of contract of employment.
  • Have intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (incident reports), and Microsoft Word (report writing, Operational and basic statistical report compilation.
  • Must be knowledgeable about physical and security technological systems and deterrents and provide recommendations from a risk based approached.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend orders, follow instructions & directives quickly, communicate effectively, and be reliable, dependable, firm, courteous and tactful.
  • Must have ability to take clear and decisive action especially during emergency situations.
  • Capable of handling telephone calls in professional manner after working hours, including unwanted calls such as bomb threats.
  • Must be competent in having passed a first aid course for beginners and firefighting course.
  • Must have in depth understanding of the application of Rules of engagement model, Use of Force continuum and the Voluntary Principles of Security and Human Rights
