Job Description


Our Therapy Group Practice at Nurture Montana in Gauteng is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their team for our newly commissioned, 36-bed, physical-rehabilitation hospital in Montana,

Gauteng. Nurture Health provides medical care, and acute and sub-acute rehabilitation treatment for people with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries. These include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and other debilitating conditions and illnesses. Our organisation helps people who have become physically or cognitively impaired with the means to lead meaningful lives, regardless of any disability they may have acquired or circumstances they are returning to.

 

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (community year completed)
  • Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance
  • Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA
  • Bobath / NDT training is beneficial
  • >5 years’ experience in a physical rehabilitation environment
  • Basic and intermediate wheelchair training is beneficial
  • Special interest and broad experience in orthopaedics, neurology (CVA/TBI and SCI)
    and vocational readying

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the ICF Framework with good written and spoken English language skills.
  • Effective interdisciplinary team member
  • Awareness of evidence base for interventions
  • Computer literacy (Beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Experience coordinating projects, people, or services
  • Extensive knowledge regarding clinical practice in physical rehabilitation
  • To foster therapeutic relationships in the inter-disciplinary team by developing joint goals, sharing information, and promoting a collaborative approach to patient and family care and outcomes
  • Available to work on a weekend / public holiday on rotation

Minimum Salary: R28 569,34 CTC (including benefits)
