Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Marketing Manager to lead the strategic and tactical execution of all marketing activities for the Nintendo brand in South Africa. This role will drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth across both ATL and BTL channels, while championing the customer journey across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, a strategic thinker, and has a deep understanding of retail, digital marketing, and brand communication.


Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop quarterly marketing strategies aligned with business objectives and Nintendo of Europe (NOE) guidelines

  • Lead ATL and BTL campaigns across traditional and digital platforms

  • Manage marketing budgets and ensure efficient campaign execution

  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise against key targets including hardware (HW), software (SW), and accessory (ACC) sales

Digital & Direct Channel Growth

  • Oversee growth of the Nintendo Direct online and in-store channel

  • Drive strategic projects to improve user experience and increase customer acquisition

  • Manage CRM journeys, direct mailers and Google Analytics insights

Creative & Event Management

  • Direct creative concepts and marketing materials ensuring brand alignment

  • Plan and execute community events, retail activations and major industry events

  • Ensure content receives all necessary approvals and aligns with NOE and local governance

Retail & Trade Marketing

  • Manage trade marketing strategy with key retail partners

  • Ensure in-store branding, promotions and merchandising meet standards

  • Collaborate with partners to maximise product visibility and sell-through

Public Relations & Social Media

  • Develop PR strategies and manage influencer and media engagement

  • Monitor social media platforms and guide content execution via Sprinklr

  • Respond to any PR or social challenges and escalate when needed

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing marketing team

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs

  • Champion Core Group values and ensure team alignment to business objectives


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field

Experience:

  • At least 8 years’ experience in a marketing role, with proven leadership and campaign delivery

  • Experience with both traditional and digital platforms

  • Retail and/or consumer electronics industry experience will be an advantage
