As a media sales key accounts manager, your primary focus is to drive revenue growth and cultivate strong relationships with key clients in the media industry. You will play a crucial role in expanding the client base, maximising sales opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction. This position involves strategic planning, proactive sales efforts, and effective communication to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Key responsibilities
- Drive new print and digital advertising sales.
- Achieve monthly sales targets.
- Manage client-direct and agency relationships.
- Activate new customers through strategic selling.
- Compile and present advertising sales proposals.
- Engage in creative brainstorming with internal stakeholders.
- Provide customer service throughout the entire sales process, including prospecting, proposals, briefing, collation of assets, approvals, after-sales service, and reporting.
- Keep clients informed of new product offerings.
- Build strategic relationships with key clients and internal and external stakeholders through regular communication.
- Stay updated on media trends and sales effectiveness, adopting new approaches to expand the client base and increase revenue.
- Accurately forecast and track revenue.
What you’ll need
- A minimum of five years of advertising sales experience in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of the print and digital advertising landscape.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to create tailored PowerPoint presentations for clients.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Strong numerical abilities, including understanding rate cards and hard costs to craft packages.
- Adaptability and proactivity.
- Innovative mindset and ability to work under pressure to meet sales targets.
- Attention to detail and deadline-driven.
Qualifications and experience
- A relevant sales or marketing qualification.
- A minimum of five years of proven magazine advertising sales experience (print and digital).
- An existing list of client and agency relationships.
- Retail network advertising sales experience is advantageous.
Prior knowledge
- Digital native with a thorough understanding of ad formats and social platforms.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (full MS Office suite).
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or Pipedrive is an advantage.
