MECHANICAL FITTER [MANUFACTURING]

Location: Pinetown

Our manufacturing client based in Durban is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team. The candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure maximum performance and safety.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical machines and equipment and attend to breakdowns.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults and malfunctions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to perform tasks accurately.
  • Align, fit, and assemble components to specifications using tools and equipment.
  • Test the functionality of machines after repairs or installations.
  • Work in accordance with safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage critical spare inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Involvement in the maintenance departments projects and adhoc duties.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Trade Tested Mechanical Fitter.
  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
