Mechanical Field Engineer (ASU Plant) _Vanderbijlpark

The above vacancy exists in our On-Sites – Maintenance Department at our Vanderbijlpark Facility, reporting to the Senior Field Engineer. Qualified candidates who meet the requirements of the role are invited to apply.

Overview & Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for providing critical machine expertise, offering troubleshooting support, and ensuring effective management of shutdowns to maintain operational efficiency for On-Sites plants. Reporting to the Senior Field Engineer. The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

1. Manage maintenance budget allocated to equipment repairs schedule.
2. Ensure and enforce legal statutory requirements compliance.
3. Manage spares and ensure machine availability for production.
4. Safely perform major maintenance, pre-planned work on shutdowns and major machine overhauls.
5. Managing equipment history and upgrading existing history system.
6. Ensure effective contractor management.

Essential Requirements

1. A minimum Mechanical Fitter qualification (Red seal trade tested) is compulsory;
2. Knowledge of ASU plant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience;
3. Good knowledge of rotating equipment;
4. Excellent verbal and written communication;
5. Must be computer Literate, proficient in the MS Office Suite.
