IVANHOE MINES (KICO) is looking for a Material Specialist
Ivanhoe Mines is a leading Canadian mining company committed to becoming a global leader in the supply of critical resources required to transition our world to a low-carbon, renewable future. Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa. The development of the Kamoa-Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine, also in the Democratic Republic of Congo and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa-Kakula.

To ensure accurate and clean materials records by resolving duplications and other materials issues in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The incumbent analyses and maintains material records, creates, and manages master data, and proposes new reorder points (ROP) and quantities (ROQ) while maintaining data accuracy and standards.
• Ensure complete, timely, and accurate reporting with appropriate levels of escalation.
• Maintain quality assurance standards and participate in audits.
• Build long-term professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure the correctness of data to avoid financial losses due to overstock or understock.
• Contribute to cost efficiency and waste reduction in the supply chain.
• Maintain compliance with statutory standards and business policies.
You will have the following:
- Minimum 7-8 years of relevant technical experience in a supply chain environment, with at least 3 years in analysis and reporting in the mining industry.
- Minimum – Certificate in Supply Chain or Materials Management or equivalent, preferably a Diploma
- ISO 8000 certification in Master data quality Management (ECCMA.MDQM) or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in MS Office.
- Proficient in SQL programming
- Proficient in analysis of data and information
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Understanding of ERP systems and inventory taxonomy.
- Understand Supply chain process flows
- ERP systems experience
- Understanding the mining environment
- Commercial acumen
