A major Financial Services Provider (FSP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Specialist to join its team in Pretoria. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and lead influencer-driven marketing initiatives that directly support business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in thought leadership and influencer marketing, with the ability to position top-level management as trusted voices in financial well-being. This role blends strategic thinking, content development, campaign execution, and performance analysis to drive brand visibility and engagement across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

1. Processes

  • Develop and implement influencer/thought leadership marketing strategies across various channels to support brand and revenue goals.

  • Manage personal brands and outputs of influencers and thought leaders.

  • Plan and oversee influence-driven events aligned with marketing objectives.

  • Execute innovative, brand-aligned campaigns.

  • Ensure all influencer content complies with brand guidelines and values.

  • Manage influencer diaries and media schedules.

  • Align campaigns with advisor-led sales initiatives.

  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.

  • Monitor campaign performance (engagement, reach, ROI) and provide insights for optimisation.

2. People

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers, agencies, and relevant thought leaders.

  • Act as the main liaison between influencers and the organisation, offering feedback and support.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing) to ensure campaign consistency.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

3. Technology

  • Use analytics tools to track influencer campaign success.

  • Identify and vet potential influencers using digital tools.

  • Stay updated on emerging platforms and tools in influencer marketing.

  • Ensure seamless integration of influencer campaigns across the organisation’s digital channels.

Requirements

Formal Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in influencer/thought leadership marketing or social media management (preferably in financial services).

  • Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, and campaigns.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Adobe Suite is a plus.

  • Strong background in planning, branding strategies, advertising, and PR.

Language Requirements

  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans.

Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of South African audience segmentation and financial demographics.

  • Expertise in influencer positioning, earned media, and scalable thought leadership.

  • Up-to-date with trends across social platforms and influencer marketing.

  • Knowledge of competitors and compliance-sensitive communication within financial services.

  • Project management with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Awareness of South African media trends.

Skills

  • Advanced verbal and written communication in both English and Afrikaans.

  • Strong storytelling and creative brand alignment capabilities.

  • Ability to motivate and lead teams under tight deadlines.

  • Skilled in facilitating group discussions and collaboration.

  • Innovative thinking and a holistic understanding of business goals.
