Job description

We are seeking a talented and creative marketing coordinator to join our agency in Cape Town. This role involves a combination of traditional marketing, content creation, social media coordination and managing and growing our clients’ social media communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative flair, excellent communication skills, and a passion for sustainability. Marketing coordinator duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies that align with FCA’s goals.
  • Set, plan and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies
  • Provide engaging text, image and video content for all social media and professional accounts
  • Respond to customers in a timely manner, within campaign communities
  • Monitor, track and report on feedback and online reviews for continuous improvement
  • Organise and manage events to boost brand awareness
  • Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams
  • Liaise with Development and Sales departments
  • Build relationships with customers, industry professionals and journalists
  • Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends
  • Serve as a point of contact for the company’s social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, forum and blog
  • Interact with community members and customers in a professional, personable, and timely manner to grow and keep the community alive
  • Work with the marketing, creative, and customer experience team to create high quality, engaging, relevant, and timely content
  • Manage the social media editorial calendar and ensure the content is published by the stipulated deadlines
  • Foster and strengthen new relationships with key influencers within the community
  • Experience using social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Social Pilot.
  • Photography skills/Go pro skills
  • Deploy social listening tools to monitor positive/negative comments and topic trends, and strive to boost engagement and resolve any potential conflicts that may affect brand reputation
  • Generate comprehensive reports on overall community sentiment and notable trends and provide meaningful feedback
  • Keep up to date to the latest social media trends and emerging social media platforms in the industry

Experience

  • 3-4 years minimum experience fulfilling the marketing role for a business or consumer brands’ social media platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Experience in launching community initiatives (e.g., building an online forum, starting an ambassador program, creating an event series, and writing an email newsletter).Familiarity with online platforms such as Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, Medium, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentations skills
  • Hands on experience with social media management
  • Ability to interpret website traffic
  • Knowledge of online marketing
  • Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver
  • Ability to work within a team of digital specialists and contribute effectively
  • Understanding of the digital and social media landscape both locally and internationally
  • Professional demeanor internally and externally when dealing with clients
  • A thorough understanding of social media platform guidelines
  • Strong administrative skills and superb attention to detail

Qualifications


  • Higher Certificate/Diploma/BA degree in marketing, communications, English and/or media studies or relevant degree.
