The role provides specialised editorial services, including professional language editing, proofreading, copywriting, copy editing, layout/formatting, and translation services. It oversees the publication and printing of audit and strategic documents, ensuring messages are simple, clear, and impactful for a wider audience.
Key roles and responsibilities
Strategic function
- Manage all language service products and interventions within the organisation.
- Oversee and manage the production process (layout, proofreading, publishing) for all audit-related reports and strategic documents.
- Ensure consistent implementation of language guidelines across the organisation.
Product management
- Develop policies and guidelines for standardising language use, terminology, formatting, etc.
- Edit and proofread audit-related reports and strategic documents, ensuring alignment with ISO plain language standards.
- Create and adapt content for digital platforms.
- Perform peer reviews and quality control for published materials.
- Communicate with content authors to clarify ambiguous or confusing information.
- Liaise with production/printing houses regarding layout accuracy and content of audit reports.
- Collaborate with business units to review and manage content, documents, and processes.
- Proofread final proofs of all major publications.
- Ensure alignment with corporate identity and branding principles, including branding, imagery, and colour palettes.
- Facilitate translation services and structured writing training sessions.
Stakeholder management
- Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to develop microsite structures and content.
- Manage service providers for accurate content editing and performance quality.
- Coordinate with production houses and printers to meet timelines and standards.
- Provide technical advice on language issues and best practices.
- Manage executive approvals for audit-related reports prior to publication.
- Maintain professional relationships with language bodies and participate in language forums.
People management
- Manage personal performance to ensure productivity.
- Support the transformation and culture plans of the business unit.
- Provide assistance to the management team on people-related tasks.
Financial management
- Contribute to budget compilation and monitor adherence to assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and supply chain processes.
Other responsibilities
- Undertake projects, tasks, and assignments as delegated by the senior manager.
Formal education
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, arts, journalism, or public relations.
- Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., SATI, PEG).
Experience
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a language and editorial environment.
