Requirements:  

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Industrial)
  • Professional registration will serve as an advantage
  • At least eight (8) years’ appropriate experience at senior management level in a fleet, facility and fixed plant and workshop management environment
  • Extensive managerial experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide relevant strategic direction
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Key performance areas:

  • Provide specialised technical leadership and input regarding Technical Operational Aspects, Facilities Improvements/Maintenance, Specialised Fixed Plant and Fixed Plant Management and Maintenance, researching, implementing and managing Technical Performance Smart Systems, various Workshops, Fleet and Occupational Health and Safety
  • Drive the research and implementation of technologies and best practices linked to technical, operational and specialised assets and monitor utilisation of depots, workshops, fleet, and specialised plant
  • Provide technical direction to maintain the availability of all fixed machinery, vehicles and plant by developing and implementing sound asset management and management practices
  • Manage the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the formulation of Machinery Safety Strategies, Policies and Procedures, to ensure effective Machinery Safety policies, procedures and strategies for Solid Waste Management as required by Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Manage the implementation of financial and procurement controls/ procedures and provide information to support financial planning sequences, to manage accurate estimates are prepared in relation to requirements enabling meeting maintenance objectives and sustaining the quality and standards of service delivery
  • Enter into Service Level Agreements with internal and external parties, ensuring statutory compliance, as per Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
