Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic and competent Maintenance Supervisor for the Team at Safari Hotel and Convention Centre located in Rustenburg and in the North-West Province.  The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the Hotel.  The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance tasks, managing a team of maintenance staff, and ensuring that all maintenance work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance tasks, including repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
  • Manage a team of maintenance staff, including assigning tasks, providing training and guidance, and evaluating performance.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is completed according to schedule and within budget.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance work in a way that minimizes disruption to hotel operations.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify any maintenance issues and address them promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols for maintenance work.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • A relevant tertiary, technical and / or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for maintenance work.
