Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees factory maintenance operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently, safely, and with optimal product quality.
Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, the role manages a team of technicians and artisans, ensuring effective reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
You must hold a certificate or diploma in a technical discipline or maintenance-related field (NQF 5/6) and a Trade Test qualification.
At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role and shift work exposure, is essential.
Key technical competencies include proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and ERP systems and a deep understanding of maintenance practices, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Strong problem-solving, planning, and supervisory skills, coupled with flexibility, resilience, and excellent communication abilities, are vital.
Responsibilities include minimising equipment downtime, coordinating plant shutdowns, and ensuring safety and compliance standards adherence.
The role also involves budget preparation, cost control, staff supervision, and performance appraisals.
A proactive, customer-focused approach committed to continuous improvement is essential for success in this position.
