Maintenance Foreman
Job Description
Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will oversee production, logistics, and site equipment maintenance to ensure maximum reliability, availability, and compliance with OHS 85/1993 regulations. This position is based in Roodepoort.
This role requires at least 4-6 years of technical experience in a high-paced production environment and expertise in Siemens S7 PLCs, VSDs, and electrical fault finding.
A tertiary Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification and a relevant trade test are essential.
Key responsibilities include managing asset care, supervising technical staff, and ensuring adherence to planned maintenance routines. You will oversee compliance with ISO and regulatory manufacturing standards, manage maintenance inventories, and build relationships with key vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to draft and specify technical equipment are required.
Leadership duties involve guiding and motivating a multidisciplinary team, developing maintenance strategies, and fostering technical innovation.
Safety compliance, risk assessment, and statutory equipment inspections are integral to the position.
Leading engineering projects from inception to completion while maintaining budgets and schedules are also essential.
This position is the site’s GMR 2.1, requiring a proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
