A top, well established legal firm is looking for a qualified and experienced Legal Secretary to join their Litigation Division.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Relevant qualification would be advantageous
- Valid Driver’s License with Own Car
- Min 3yrs experience as a Litigation Secretary is required
- MS Office Literate
Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective liaison between Directors and Clients by attending to calls, queries and messages to ensure high level of client confidence
- Deal with queries, follow up and give feedback to the clients
- Record calls and content into the billing system for correct invoicing of clients
- Develop and maintain an effective filing system
- Maintain effective file management
- Open new files in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Implement the reminder system
- Transcribe correspondence and documents relating to agreement, applications, court processes and various other correspondence
- Administer the serving and filing of court documents and return dates as per the deadlines established by the Directors
- Maintain electronic diary for the Directors
- Transcribe dictation and other typing work in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare presentations when required
- Capture and reconcile billable time, fees and disbursements
- Prepare invoices, statements and reports in accordance with company policies and procedures
