The IIE Varsity College, Westville Campus has a vacancy for Part-Time Lecturers: Computer Sciences for the 2025 academic year.

  • ICT for Development (ICTD8411)

Competencies Required:

  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the current state of research in the Information Systems field.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of various research methods, theories and frameworks used in the Information Systems field.
  • Be able to evaluate the appropriateness of specific methods, theories and frameworks for use in given Information Systems research projects and contexts.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Presentation Skills.
  • Assertiveness and dynamism.
  • Understanding of customer service in education.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Master’s in Information Technology. 
  • Alternatively, a NQF 9 qualification that includes IT related topics. 

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Lecturing experience in general IT related topics. 
  • Work experience in an IT field is advantageous. 

Working Conditions:

  • Please note that this is a Part-time lecturing role. 
  • Positions are part-time with lectures taking place between 17:00 and 20:00

Working Hours:

  • Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 – specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

Salary:

  • Hourly rate commensurate with experience and hours worked.
