Our client a Developer based in Pretoria is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor with at least 2 years of site experience to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in the overall management of costs related to construction projects, ensuring financial and contractual control throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in all aspects of quantity surveying duties

·         Measuring work and drawing up Bills of Quantities

·         Prepare and submit accurate and timely cost estimates and budgets for construction projects

·         Conduct site visits to assess and evaluate progress, costs, and materials

·         Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts and manage relationships

·         Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts

·         Provide input into cost saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities

·         Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims related to costs and contracts

Skills and Qualifications:

·         Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field

·         Minimum of 2 years of site experience in a quantity surveying role

·         Strong understanding of construction processes and materials

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel

·         Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
