Java Development Manager

Fast-paced PTA-based financial institution require a Java experienced development manager with previous commercial Java development experience in conjunction with team leadership skills.

If you have strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail and effective communication and interpersonal skills this role is for you!

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

Team management:

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers
• Oversee daily operations and ensure project milestones are met
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs

Project coordination:

• Plan, execute, and deliver software projects on time and within budget
• Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
• Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Vendor management:

• Coordinate with third-party vendors for system integrations, upgrades, and maintenance
• Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met

Collaboration and communication:

• Foster a collaborative environment among teams and departments
• Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders
• Liaise with senior management to align IT strategies with business goals

Technical expertise:

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Provide technical guidance and support to the development and IT teams
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements

Reference Number for this position is GZ59301 which is a permanent position based in Centurion offering a cost to company salary of between R1.1 and R1.3 million per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
