IT Support Technician II – Lecture Venue (Grade 11)

Information and Technology Services invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.

Main Objectives

Ensuring lecture venue equipment is working and replaced as necessary. To respond to academic users’ needs for technical support in university learning spaces.  The incumbent will be required to provide professional, efficient and accurate responses to enable the university staff to deliver teaching and learning in the lecture venue. Technology refers to the PC’s, audio visual and sound systems but does not include lighting and fabric of the lecture venue.

 The Requirements

 Grade 12 with 4 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: –

  •  Working in an AV environment, diagnosing and troubleshooting faults
  • Expertise and practical knowledge of operating systems, networking and office software
  • Worked in a team environment, sharing responsibilities and being held accountable as a team
  • Working in a cloud environment using Google Workspace
  • Experience working with audio-visual and sound systems within a large teaching venue is an advantage

  • The selection process that will be followed for this post will include an assessment and/or presentation and an interview.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 11):

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum:                             R401 952.00

Cost to Company per annum (Approximately):                R539 645.00

The University reserves the right not to proceed with the filling of the post.
