An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Officer with I&J Woodstock, Cape Town. This role will play a critical role in supporting the HR Business Partner by providing generalist human resources services and advising business units. The role partners with line managers to enhance effectiveness in areas such as Labour Broker Administration, Learning and Development, Employee Wellness, Industrial Relations, Performance Management, Recruitment, and Talent Management.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities: 

Labour Broker and Benefit Administration

  • Manage benefit administration and oversee HR projects, ensuring timely execution and effective communication with employees regarding company policies.

Human Resources Reporting and Compliance

  • Generate and manage HR-related reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external legislation. Maintain up-to-date job profiles and ensure organizational structures are regularly reviewed.

Performance Management and Appraisals

  • Coordinate performance management processes, advising line managers on handling performance reviews and improvement plans. Ensure all appraisals and documentation are completed and properly filed.

Industrial Relations

  • Facilitate effective industrial relations by advising on company policies, mediating staff relations, and coordinating disciplinary processes. Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation.

Recruitment and Selection

  • Manage recruitment processes, ensuring alignment with Employment Equity (EE) and company policies. Oversee onboarding for new employees and provide an effective induction process.

Employee Wellness and Events

  • Contribute to wellness plans and coordinate staff events to foster a positive work environment. Refer employees to appropriate wellness resources as needed.

HR Projects

  • Assist with various HR projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely completion of project deliverables. 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role

 Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or a similar field

 Additional requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required between business units.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, and labour legislation such as BCEA, LRA, and OHASA.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and labour laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience with recruitment, IR, and employee wellness initiatives advantageous
