JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg
REPORTING TO: Executive: Marketing and Strategic Development
SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: The Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing PG Bison’s procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving transformation, efficiency, and value creation. This role will foster a high-performance, agile, and continuously improving procurement function to enhance its strategic impact. Key responsibilities include overseeing procurement operations, optimising supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, and advancing sustainability initiatives. The role requires strong leadership in managing procurement processes to uphold the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Must have at least 10 years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management with at least 8 years in a managerial leadership role
- Proven track record of leading transformational change and driving procurement excellence in a global or multi-regional organisation with financial responsibility in excess of R2 billion
- Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations at a senior level (International sourcing experience will be advantageous)
- Experience with digital procurement tools, ERP systems, and analytics platforms role (e.g. P2P, e-auctions, Netstock, Qlik Sense, QlikView, etc.)
- Experience in the timber industry, paper/pulp or re-engineered wood based panels will be an advantage
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or similar field
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g. MBA, MCIPS, CPSM) is preferred
