Head of Finance
Job Description
The Head of Finance is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with oversight of a finance team including direct and indirect reports.
This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of the finance department, ensuring compliance, driving financial strategy, and maintaining adherence to accounting principles and standards.
You will demonstrate expertise in:
- CA (SA) qualification, although CIMA or CGMA credentials and a B.Com degree with Honors are also acceptable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a financial leadership role, is required.
- Experience working for a Global entity will be an added advantage; however, it is not mandatory
- Manufacturing sector experience required
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, professionalism, and adaptable communication are essential.
- You should demonstrate strong leadership, intellectual curiosity, self-management, and a collaborative mindset.
Key responsibilities include managing financial operations such as budgeting, cash flow, tax compliance, payroll, FP&A, and treasury. The role involves drafting and managing budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, overseeing audits, and implementing process improvements.
You will verify the company’s financial position, optimise pricing strategies, and ensure accurate costing to maximise profitability. You will also manage relationships with banking institutions, negotiate rates, and oversee performance metrics for the finance team.
This role demands a results-driven leader capable of fostering collaboration while ensuring the company’s financial health and compliance with evolving regulations.
