Our client is seeking a skilled head chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, exceptional food quality, and excellent service at their restaurant in George, Western Cape. You will work closely with the owner, lead a dynamic team, and bring innovative culinary creations to life.
Key responsibilities
- Kitchen management: Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring dishes meet the highest standards.
- Team leadership: Support and guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Menu preparation: Assist in planning and executing menu items, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Quality control: Monitor food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Communication: Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and address any arising issues.
- Inventory management: Assist with inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation.
Qualifications
- Available immediately.
- Minimum of two years’ experience running a kitchen or a recently completed culinary qualification.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team and clientele.
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport for commuting to work.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
