Job Description


The Graduate’s Programme is a 12 months programme aimed towards attaining skills and experience from the workplace. The Robben Island Museum (RIM) Graduate programme is structured work-based internship development programme focused on taking graduates from various Universities/ University of Technologies or any Institution of Higher Learning through a structured work plan to expand their work experience.

The individual will be placed with the Heritage Department where they be open to various fields with exposure in Public and Customer Relations , Facility Management , Travel & Tourism, Structural and Civil Engineering, IT and Computer sciences and more.


Desired Experience & Qualification:
( Have any of the below qualifications ) 

  • National Diploma Public Relations Management/ Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/ Hospitality
  • National Diploma in Travel & Tourism
  • B Tech Facility Management
  • BEng/ BSc Structural or Civil engineering
  • National Diploma in ICT/ Information Systems/ Computer Science or CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA certifications.

Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic Knowledge of financial concepts
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen or have a valid work permit.
  • Recently certified ID and qualifications.
  • Must be able to commit to 12 months.
  • MS Office proficiency.

Job Type & Contract Length:

Successful candidates will enter a 12 months internship contract. The Graduates will enter a contract with RIM and be placed within the relevant departments within the museum for the duration of the internship.
