Fitter: Underground Conveyors and Pumps

A leading mining company based in Limpopo has an exciting opportunity for a Fitter: with Underground Conveyors and Pumps experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for all mechanical work in the identified area of responsibility and to ensure proper maintenance and reliability of machines. Requirements:

• Matric
• Fitter trade test
• 3 Years experience working on underground conveyor belt system, dewatering pumping systems and rock breaker machines is essential.
• Experience working on conveyor systems, air reticulation, water reticulation infrastructure
• Valid drivers licence and own transport essential
• Valid medical certificate or able to obtain one

Duties:

• General maintenance ad proper running of conveyor belt systems, pumping systems
• Overhauling of pumps and parts replacements
• Ensure minimum spares of equipment are available
• Perform proper inspection and ensure good housekeeping in their area of responsibility
• Identify new opportunities to improve overall equipment availability of the section
• Enforce compliance with the NHS Act and regulations on the section
• Ensure that subordinates adhere to all company standards, safe work procedures and compliance with safety
