Financial Accountant (Financial Statements) George – Western Cape

My client, based in George, is looking for an accountant with experience in financial statements. 

Requirements:

• SAIPA articles completed / in process
• Experience with financial statements
• Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting
• Proficient in preparing financial statements and reports.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or Pastel).

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compile accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage and oversee the general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Conduct financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform reconciliations for accounts, including bank reconciliations, to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and income tax submissions.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support external audits by preparing relevant documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Monitor and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Liaise with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making
