Finance Specialist – Payments Uploading & Scanning
Job Description
Bring your finance and administrative skills to an international organisation where accuracy and compliance ensure seamless operations that directly support sustainable development. Based at the GIZ Country Office in Pretoria, you will work under the Head of Finance on a 24-month contract, joining a diverse and multicultural team.
We are offering two opportunities for Finance Assistants who will support invoice processing, uploading and scanning, VAT preparation, and departmental administration while ensuring compliance with GIZ rules and financial standards.

What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinate incoming invoices, including scanning and uploading in line with GIZ financial standards
- Assist with receivables, payables and voucher preparation, including clearing documentation and refunds
- Support VAT processes including voucher collection, capturing, compiling VAT lists and assisting with distribution
- Provide administrative support for the Finance unit including filing, stationery procurement, logistics and courier services
- Ensure compliance with financial administration, IT policies and GIZ requirements
- Support audits, internal controls and meetings through accurate documentation and proactive communication
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance, the Senior Finance and Administration Manager or their designee
Required Qualifications, Competencies and Experiences
Qualifications

Diploma in Accounts, Administration or a similar area, or Certificate with experience in GIZ and related tasks
Professional Experience
- Proven basic understanding of and hands on experience in accounting
- One year working experience in financial management, accounts receivables and payables, voucher preparation, documentation and filing
- Support and customer relation or communication experience is an asset
- Experience with an international donor agency
Other Knowledge, Additional Competences
- Proven skills in basic financial administration
- Knowledge of GIZ accounting processes
- Ability to take on occasional on-call assignments
- Strong communication and social skills with team spirit, reliability, diplomacy and cultural understanding
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in email, internet and computer applications (Office 365, Excel, Word, MS Teams, PuR IDA)
- Fluent in English (oral and written), knowledge of German is an asset
- Confidential handling of data and information
- Result oriented, proactive and hands-on with good time management
- Willingness to scale up skills as required in agreement with management
