Finance Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and manage invoices, payments, and expense reports with precision.
• Assist in bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Support budget tracking and provide insightful financial reports for ongoing projects.
• Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end closing procedures.
• Liaise proactively with vendors, participants, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
• Prepare weekly payment runs for authorisation and ensure timely bank entries.
• Perform daily bank account reconciliations and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
• Handle VAT accounting for both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in Xero.
• Complete weekly income reconciliations for review and reporting.
• Ensure all financial documentation is accurate and detailed.
• Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and systems, streamlining operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, with a solid understanding of VAT.
• Proficient in Xero, Excel, and Google Sheets.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and investigative skills, ensuring accuracy in all financial matters.
• Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to prioritise tasks, even in the face of unexpected challenges.
