As a result of our expansion, Avante seeks to employ Finance Managers and Accountants to join our virtualFD team.
1.Finance Managers x 2
- Support clients with their financial management needs across the full cycle.
- Support clients to (re)design business processes and implement systems that support effective financial management, based on clients’ requirements.
- Prepare budgets and financial plans aligned with clients’ organisational and programmatic plans.
- Manage and/or monitor transactions processing and ensure that reconciliations are performed and reviewed prior to the production and circulation of financial reports.
- Prepare and/or review cash flow projections and support clients with invoicing and cash collections.
- Monitor and analyse income and expenditure trends to ensure that absorption rates are sustainable.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations .
- Produce and/or review periodic financial reports and present the same to management, governance structures and other key stakeholders including donors/funders.
- Track and monitor contracts and grants on behalf of clients ensuring compliance with donor requirements and monitoring of project deliverables.
- Review financial reports and payment schedules submitted by clients
- Build financial management capacity of clients through training and mentoring of internal customers.
- Carry out any other financial and or administrative duties as assigned.
The requirements of the position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or finance professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA etc;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Finance Manager or similar position;
- Experience in the NGO/development sector or public sector is an advantage;
- Experience in utilising accounting packages;
- Proficient user of the English language (oral and written);
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel;
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of management including with our strategic partners;
- Ability to manage complex projects;
- Ability to work under pressure; and
- Adaptable to change and working in a dynamic environment.
2.Accountants x 3
These positions are based in Pretoria but will require the individual to service clients across the country. Some of the duties include:
- Work closely with the Finance Managers to service clients.
- Prepare draft budgets and financial plans aligned with clients’ organisational and programmatic plans for review by Finance Managers.
- Process payments to consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
- Process clients’ transactions and perform reconciliations prior to the production and circulation of financial reports.
- Develop and monitor project budgets.
- Prepare review cash flow projections and support clients with invoicing and cash collections.
- Analyse income and expenditure trends and discuss with Finance Managers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
- Track and monitor contracts and grants on behalf of clients ensuring compliance with donor requirements and monitoring of project deliverables.
- Carry out any other financial and or administrative duties as assigned.
The requirements of the position include:
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in finance or accounting;
- Substantial progress towards attaining professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance Manager or similar position;
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
- Experience in the NGO/development sector or public sector is an advantage;
- Experience in utilising accounting packages;
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of management including with our strategic partners;
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task;
- Good communication interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Adaptable to change and working in a dynamic environment.
