Job Description


Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and dynamic Finance Manager on behalf of our client — an established player in the mining sector, currently developing its new start-up mining operations. This is a key opportunity to join a growing team based in Griekwastad, Northern Cape, and contribute to the successful financial leadership of a developing mining venture.

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all financial activities for the mine site

  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and GAAP

  • Lead audit processes, including drafting of financial statements

  • Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting models

  • Ensure full statutory compliance (Income Tax, VAT, Royalties, etc.)

  • Prepare and present Board packs and executive reports

  • Cash flow management and financial controls implementation

  • Oversee payroll processes (VIP Payroll/SAGE)

  • Support operational and cross-functional decision-making

  • Supervise and develop the finance team

  • Handle ad hoc financial duties as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom (Honours) in Accounting or Finance

  • At least 5 years of experience in a finance role

  • 2–3 years’ experience in the mining industry strongly preferred

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with Pastel/SAGE and VIP Payroll/SAGE

  • Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and statutory compliance

  • Experience preparing financial statements and board-level reports

Preferred:

  • CA(SA) qualification (recently qualified candidates will be considered)

  • Exposure to start-up or Greenfield mining operations
