The Role:
As the finance manager, you will be an integral part of our leadership team, responsible for driving the financial health and operational efficiency of Sneaker LAB. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and play a key role in scaling our business. This position requires not only financial expertise but also strong leadership skills to manage and inspire your team, build relationships across departments, and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidate financial data: Regularly consolidate the Group’s financial data to ensure precision, clarity, and completeness.
- Financial analysis: Analyse key financial reports, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements, to provide valuable insights into business performance.
- Review financial submissions: Scrutinize financial submissions for accuracy, identifying discrepancies and ensuring consistency.
- Management accounts: Prepare detailed monthly management accounts with comprehensive commentary for review by the Board of Directors.
- Budget variance analysis: Collaborate with the FP&A team to analyse and explain budget variances and provide actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities and risks: Recognize financial opportunities and risks, and work with the CEO to implement processes to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Enhance reporting processes: Continuously assess and improve reporting processes, recommending more efficient tools and methodologies where needed.
- Lease and contract reviews: Oversee the review of new Group leases and contracts to ensure alignment with the company’s financial strategy and goals.
- Sales planning support: Contribute to sales forecasting and strategic planning by analysing financial data and providing insights.
- Supplier negotiations: Engage with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and pricing to benefit the business.
- Risk management: Support the company’s risk management efforts by identifying financial risks and helping to create effective mitigation strategies.
- Foreign exchange management: Oversee and analyze foreign exchange transactions, ensuring smooth operations across international markets.
- Team leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire your team to achieve departmental goals while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Cross-department communication: Communicate effectively across departments, ensuring alignment on financial and operational goals, and building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Relationship building: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners, including suppliers, contractors, and key business units, to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Professional qualification: CA (SA) or ACCA
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar financial role, preferably within the retail industry.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and lead a team, with a focus on collaboration, development, communication and performance.
- Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and accessible manner, with experience building relationships across teams and departments.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
