Job Description


Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Finance Clerk on behalf of our client within the property industry, based in Bellville. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced finance professional to support a dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records up to Trial Balance level — all within a structured and process-driven environment.

Responsibilities 

Accounts Payable

  • Process supplier invoices and match to purchase orders and delivery notes.

  • Load and process supplier payments via business banking platforms, ensuring full supporting documentation.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and promptly resolve discrepancies.

  • Communicate with suppliers and handle finance-related queries.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Accurately capture all financial transactions in SAGE Evolution.

  • Maintain and reconcile cashbooks; perform daily bank reconciliations.

  • Process journals and assist with month-end closing procedures.

  • Prepare supporting schedules and contribute to reports up to Trial Balance.

  • Maintain organized financial records for audit, tax, and compliance purposes.

  • Assist in VAT submissions and audit preparations.

Reporting & Support

  • Support the preparation of management accounts and ad hoc financial reports.

  • Reconcile creditors and debtors accounts.

  • Provide general administrative support within the finance department.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance or creditors role

  • Proven hands-on experience with SAGE Evolution (non-negotiable)

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

  • High attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Contactable and verifiable references

  • A tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting will be a strong advantage
