As an ESG Graduate, you will Support and assist the development and implementation of the environmental sustainability initiatives aligned to the ESG strategy.


Minimum Requirements…

Essential

  • Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science / Social Science
  • Minimum of 0 – 1 year of experience

Key Responsibilities…

Environmental Social Governance Support:

  • Support and assist the development and implementation of the Environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Gather, consolidate and analysis of the environmental sustainability data
  • Support the delivery of technical activities and projects, including researching and providing technical advice and recommendations
  • Support monitoring and measurement of the environmental sustainability performance indicators and reporting
  • Conduct visits at stores and warehouse to gather data (i.e. energy use, waste management, use on natural resources)
  • Support climate change mitigation and resilience initiatives guided by the ESG strategy
  • Facilitate ESG training and awareness programme 
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering evidence, assisting with root cause analysis, and preparing reports

General:

  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Competencies…

  • Knowledge of ESG (Environmental Social Governance)
  • Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to
  • Excellent communication skills and conveys ideas and facts in writing using language the reader will best understand.
  • Build positive relationships across departments. diplomacy, empathy, and firmness
  • High attention to detail in documentation, research and follow-ups
  • Takes initiative and manages time effectively while working under limited supervision.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and able to prioritise tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Driver’s license and own reliable transport
