Seedstars Talents 

Seedstars Talents’ mission is to support top talents from emerging markets to get access to and acquire 21st-century skills to help them shape their career in a meaningful way. The Talents team partners with development organisations, governments, investors and higher-education institutions on finding and providing solutions to mitigate skill imbalances by bridging labor market skill shortage gaps through its core activities:

  • Academy – Equipping the education sector with gamified tech and entrepreneurial EdTech platforms and science-backed innovative pedagogies. 
  • Talent Agency – Discovering and preparing Academy talents and landing them in meaningful professional opportunities.

About the Program

The is a holistic technical assistance upskilling program to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Congo, and enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs to run and grow successful digitally-enabled businesses to minimize the digital divide, catalyze economic growth, and create jobs. 

Seedstars is leading two key tracks of the larger program: training first-time entrepreneurs on sustainable business creation and management and, implementing capacity building programs. 

About the Role

As an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) you will be in charge of delivering both training and pre-incubation / incubation and accelerations tracks. Your main objective will be to provide personalized, hands-on support for a select segment in this program to ensure participants are progressing according to the program outline and achieving their business milestones and outcomes.  

We are hiring for the first 8 months of the project with the possibility to extend based on performance and partner’s feedback and needs.

This is an onsite program in Congo.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. 

Responsibilities 

Selecting beneficiaries 

  • Applicant evaluation & selection: Defines selection criteria, evaluates applicants, leads applicant selection & light due diligence.

Platform management

  • Setting up Seedstars edtech online platform together with the central product team.
  • Guiding beneficiaries through an online platform: reviewing submissions, giving feedback, and passing to the next challenge.
  • Adopting existing content or creating new one if needed.
  • Collecting learnings and working with the central team on improving the platform. 

Training

  • Leading bootcamps and additional events.
  • Leading 1:1 mentoring and office hours.
  • Facilitating P2P sessions.
  • Supporting Program manager in organizing bootcamps and additional events.
  • Ongoing beneficiaries evaluation throughout the program, tracking their performance and achievements.
  • Ongoing data collection from participants in collaboration with M&E.

Network

  • Reaching out to organizations and experts, connecting them with the program.
  • Interviews and onboarding of experts for the program. Connecting experts with participants; expert relations, communication, and evaluation.

Your profile

  • Your Mindset 
    • Excellent team player with high levels of empathy.
    • Passion for problem solving and striving for excellence. 
    • Excellent organization skills with a knack for coordination and juggling competing priorities.
    • Extremely polished and straightforward communication –written and spoken– with different levels of stakeholders.
    • Comfortable delivering under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Your Experience 
    • You’re an entrepreneur. 
    • Fluent French with a strong command of English.
    • Ability to develop creative, engaging and tailored content.
    • Mentorship or training experience. 
    • Experience supporting in startup & entrepreneurial programs.  
    • Experience managing online educational platforms.
    • Deep understanding of startup methodologies (testing / experimentation design, fundraising etc ) as well as up to date knowledge of the latest tools (Analytics, SEM/CEO/Email/Social marketing etc.). 
    • Knowledge of KPIs and tracking milestones.
