Job Description


Your Purpose…

As Energy Manager, you’ll have full ownership and responsibility for making sure we use energy and utilities efficiently, sustainably, and cost-effectively. You’ll dive into our energy usage data, uncover valuable opportunities for savings, and lead the charge on energy-related projects and initiatives.

Your Duties and Responsibilities…

Strategy and Planning 

  •  Develop and roll out a comprehensive energy management strategy that shapes and guides our energy and utilities landscape.
  • Set and align annual and long-term goals for energy efficiency and sustainability aligned with the company’s overall objectives.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting 

  • Analyse energy consumption data to uncover trends and unlock new opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of energy usage and other sustainability data for compliance and reporting purposes.

Audits and Assessments

  • Conduct energy audits and assessments to ensure we’re using energy responsibly, that standards are met and to find energy saving potentials.


System Design and Innovation

  • Analyse and innovate on system designs for new equipment and refurb projects to increase energy performance.
  • Create best practices for system and equipment design/selection and operating procedures.


Project Management

  • Spearhead and drive energy efficiency projects, including retrofitting and upgrading equipment.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with and inspire regional facility managers and other departments to champion energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices.
  • Empower and educate staff on energy conservation practices to foster a culture of sustainability.

Financial Management 

  • Develop and manage the energy budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Develop business cases for the implementation of energy initiatives.

Our Minimum Requirements…

We can’t live without… 

  • Tertiary education in Engineering, Environmental Science and/or Energy Management, or a related field.

  • Relevant experience in energy management, sustainability, or a related field.

  • A deep understanding of energy systems, energy audits, and energy efficiency practices.

  • Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a first-principles approach to identifying and implementing energy-saving solutions.
