Overview & Key Responsibilities

As an Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of all electrical equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Maximize Artisan Utilization: Review maintenance priorities and assign tasks to ensure optimal productivity.
  2. Participate in Planning Activities: Collaborate to ensure effective manpower, materials, and methods are in place to minimize production disruptions.
  3. Develop Procedures: Create and document detailed procedures for all aspects of electrical equipment maintenance.
  4. Lead Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives by developing and implementing effective reliability strategies.
  5. Technical Support: Provide expertise to the On-site project department as needed.
  6. Plan and Control Plant Shutdowns: Assess long-term requirements and organize resources effectively, including consumables and equipment spares.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Educational Qualifications: N3 in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Trade Certification: Electrician Red Seal Trade Tested.
  3. Licensing: Valid Wireman’s Licence.
  4. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in electrical HV maintenance, preferably in the gas or related industry, including experience with HV synchronous motors and excitation systems.
  5. Knowledge: Familiarity with protection relays and predictive maintenance practices.
  6. Standards Understanding: Strong grasp of electrical engineering standards.
  7. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  8. Technical Proficiency: Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  9. Driver’s License: Valid unendorsed driver’s license and own vehicle.
