Education Technologist – Learning Content Developer

Location: Centurion
Type: Full Time Contract (6 months initially with possibility of renewal)

We’re looking for a creative, tech-savvy Education Technologist to help bring our modules to life in Moodle. You won’t be managing the backend — that’s covered — you’ll be working directly with lecturers to design and build engaging, interactive learning activities and resources using mostly free and open-source tools.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with academic staff to turn teaching materials into interactive online learning experiences.
• Create activities, quizzes, videos, infographics, and simulations directly in Moodle (especially with H5P).
• Repurpose open educational resources and ensure content is accessible to all students.
• Use free tools like Canva, Audacity, Loom, and OBS Studio to produce multimedia.
• Train and support lecturers in creating and maintaining engaging content.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience building courses in Moodle (focus on editing, not backend admin).
• Knowledge of instructional design and active learning strategies.
• Skill with free/low-cost e-learning and media creation tools.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
