Job Title                      :  Driver

Location                       :  Clinix Botshelong-Empilweni Private Hospital (Vosloorus)

Job Summary:

To assist patients in all aspects of the admissions and discharge process in a professional manner, preventing financial risks to the organization and meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Minimum Qualifications and experience:

  • Grade 12.
  • Code 10 Driver’s License.
  • Valid Public Drivers Permit (PDP).
  • Previous experience as a Driver is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Technical skill: advance driving.

 Minimum Duties:

  • Conduct the relevant pre-trip inspections on allocated vehicle daily and ensure that the vehicle conforms to the National Road and Traffic Act regulations.
  • Report any maintenance requirements to the Fleet Administrator and/or Group Fleet Manager.
  • Prioritise job requests in order to optimize time and fuel efficiency.
  • Maintain and complete daily log and inspection sheets.
  • Transport patients and customers safely and efficiently.
  • Complete delivery of other resources and employees, where necessary.
  • Refill fuel, diesel, oil and coolant according to Group Fleet Management procedures and ensure that the Fuel Card Register is updated accordingly.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations and ensures that no violations are committed.
  • Park vehicles in secure Company facilities and ensure the vehicle/s is locked.
  • Ensure vehicle is parked per the Group’s security standards if parked outside CHG facilities.
  • Store keys in predetermined secure storage area.
  • Complete all required general administration.
  • Ensure, over weekends or during public holidays, that vehicles are filled up on the day before the start of such weekend or holiday.
  • Inform the Fleet and EMS Manager of any company vehicle involved in an accident.
  • Report accidents to the SAPS within 24 hours of the accident occurring and ensure a case number is obtained.
  • Complete an accident / incident report on the day of the accident.
  • Keep an updated list of emergency contact numbers visible in vehicle in case of emergencies.
